Why e-liquid nicotine must registered as a medicine?
The strength of nicotine in e-liquids must not exceed 20mg/ml unless registered as a medicine
New rules about the sale of e-cigarettes and e-liquids enforced 20th May onward by Trading manager Alex Fry. These transformations to the law applied to anyone who makes or sells e-cigarettes and e-liquids. Those who sells this product online via social media or from their own website are also advised to take note.
Pursuant to the new rule, anyone who does not obey the law could face confinement of up to two years or an unlimited fine. Secondly, strength of nicotine not more than 20mg/ml is also one of the new law introduced in UK. This is because, referring to the research, the amount of nicotine found in 100ml bottles of e-liquids is more than 20mg/ml. This will be considered as illegal starting on 20th May onward.
Moreover, e-cigarettes and e-liquids now must be registered with the Medicines and Health care products regulatory agency. This must be done before sellers sells their products to public. It is important to get to know that nicotine is an addictive substance, with chemical effects on user’s body. E-liquids contain nicotine as an added ingredient, and it can change the real taste of e-liquids.
For those who create their own e-liquids, must be aware of the measurement for mg/mL of nicotine level. Pursuant to the surveys of regular e-cigarette users, the most famous e-liquids have a nicotine content of 18mg/ml.( Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_cigarette_aerosol_and_e-liquid ).
There is a familiar perception that nicotine is a harmful poison. There is some truth to this, but data suggests that this perception may ignored. Particularly when dealing with the nicotine in e-liquids. However, there can be unwanted side effects of vaping if too much nicotine were used. Dizziness and nausea are one of the symptoms of a slight nicotine overdose.
Some countries have systematized e-cigarettes as a medical product. A 2014 review shows that the phenomenon of e-cigarettes has built concern in the health community, governments, and the public. It is recommended that e-cigarettes should be directed to protect consumer’s health.
Appreciate the things God gave.
