Tobacco takes the lives of nearly 6 million people worldwide, every year. In addition, 400,000 of those tobacco linked to deaths happens in United States alone. While from those 400,000 deaths recorded, 41,000 of them are non-smokers with heavy, long-term exposure to secondhand smoke. Besides that, smoking inflicts body with many damages which can not be recovered and reduces the human life span by 25 years.
Smoking is a practice that ends up killing half of its users , yet report shows over 10% of the US population are daily smokers. Tobacco related illnesses rise up $133 BILLION in direct health care costs every year. Pursuant to the CDC, smoking increases risk of suffering from cataracts and can cause destitute of vision
According to a report sponsored by UK’s Department of Health and published by Public Health England, a well known group of highly qualified scientists, researchers and public health professionals , electronic cigarettes are at least 95 percent safer than tobacco cigarettes. The report also identify their potential as a reasonable approach to quit smoking.
E-cigarettes are electronic devices that try to create a feeling like smoking tobacco. They work by heating a liquid to generate an aerosol, usually called a “vapor”, that the user inhales. This e-liquids are usually made of nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerine , and flavorings. Not all e-liquids contain nicotine.
Besides, the health risks of e-cigarettes are uncertain. They are likely safer than tobacco cigarettes, but the long-term health effects are not known. They can help some smokers quit smoking. When used by non-smokers, e-cigarettes can lead to nicotine addiction, and there is concern that children could start smoking after using e-cigarettes.
Vaping doesn’t include any toxic smoke, its e-liquid has experts on the fence too. Since e-cigarettes were only developed in 2003 by Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik, it’s hard to say what long term effects might occur after continuously use. So far, no serious adverse effects have been reported in trials. Less serious adverse effects include throat and mouth irritation, vomiting, nausea, and coughing.
Smoking is also associated with respiratory and cardiovascular disease. But if you thought that cigarette smoking only led to lung cancer you are quite mistaken. Smoking is responsible for several cancer and this is seen as a serious matter. Such as cancer of nose, mouth, larynx, trachea, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, cervix, bone marrow and blood.
Besides health, safety is also a major matter for most people who want to make the switch to vaping. Are e-cigarettes safe? E-cigarettes are battery-powered devices. It can be dangerous if not educate about the correct usage of batteries. Like any lithium battery, extra care must be taken in order to make sure safe usage of the product.
Nothing can be 100% safe but e-cigs approved much safer than those deadly cigarette as the toxicant levels of e-cigs lower than in cigarette smoke. However, we do know for a fact that about half of the people that smoke traditional cigarettes will die directly due to smoking. Vaping is a healthier alternative to traditional smoking and much safer, in our opinion. I guess only time will tell who will win the conflict of e-cigarettes vs. cigarettes.
Appreciate the things God gave.
